Neal F. Eggeson is an Indianapolis-based trial and appellate attorney focusing on medical privacy litigation. He is one of only two attorneys in the state of Indiana to have earned the designation of “Master Advocate” from the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, and he is one of only 25 Indiana attorneys to earn double board certification (in Civil Trial Law and in Civil Practice Advocacy) from the National Board of Trial Advocacy.
Various media outlets -including ProPublica and NPR's All Things Considered - have reported on Mr. Eggeson's work in the field of medical privacy litigation. Mr. Eggeson's writings on negligence law have appeared in the Indiana Health Law Review, the Indiana Civil Litigation Review, the Indiana Law Encyclopedia, The Indiana Lawyer, and Res Gestae, and he is the 2013 winner of the Harrison Legal Writing Award from the Indiana State Bar Association.
Mr. Eggeson earned his J.D. from Cornell University where he served on the Cornell International Law Review and the Moot Court Board, won the 1998 Cornell Moot Court Winter Cup, earned the Ralston R. Irvine award for Legal Writing, and pursued additional graduate studies in Philosophy. Prior to law school, Mr. Eggeson earned his B.A. from Butler University, graduating cum laude with High Honors after only six semesters.
In addition to his work as a litigator, Mr. Eggeson spent four years teaching advanced Legal Analysis, Research & Communication as an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Law at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. He also spent several years volunteering with the Hamilton County Guardian ad litem program and the Marion County CASA program.
